Congratulations to Surrey who have won the 2019 Inter Counties Championship, retaining the trophy for a truly remarkable eleventh year in succession!
The morning’s weather report looked promising with only a slight chance of rain, but this was soon disproved. Intermittent showers and wind fluctuations provided challenging conditions for all those on the firing point at 900 yards, with a break in the clouds towards the end of the 1000 yard detail.
Surrey stretched their lead in the overall standings by finishing first with 1141.99 at long range, 12 points ahead of London who received silver medals for their score of 1129.96. Bronze was tightly contested with Berkshire beating Sussex to bronze by 2 points with a score of 1114.100.
Sun broke through the clouds just in time to welcome the re-homed Champion of Champions, previous shot on the second Monday of the TR Imperial Meeting.
Even with challenging winds Matthew Ensor managed to post a score of 72.4 to take home the victory.

In blustery conditions with varying and rapid changes in wind strength, the Long Range Match was a tough challenge for all coaches. However, Surrey prevailed to win the Long Range Match by 5 points from Berkshire, with Hertfordshire collecting bronze just 1 point behind.
Having secured the Lt Col H Jones match on Saturday, the result was a clean sweep for Surrey. Full results are here:
